Soldier's Story
My name is Jaxson, and I am a historian who started collecting militaria when I was six. I enjoy sharing war veterans' experiences so they are remembered as soldiers and human beings. Many of their stories have been lost in time and are forever gone. I try to piece back together some of their life and wartime experiences so they are remembered.
These soldiers went on to live humble lives, not the glamorous 'Hero' life some suspected them of living. They would quietly blend back into society as welders, janitors, businesspeople, storekeepers, teachers, and construction workers, to name a few.
Some who saw combat would never leave the battlefield but would overcome these mental effects after the war; however, others did not. Many did not talk about their experiences because it was too painful. Their minds would stay with the long-forgotten dead and dark shadows of the past.
