Included are Walter Koziar's Marine Corps WWII 1943 Dress Blues Coat, Cover, Belt & Hardcover (including his digitized Official Military Personnel File).
Walter was in Company "K", 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division. He fought on Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima.
Walter was a Rifleman in Company "K" starting as a Private and being promoted to a Sergeant machine gun squad leader just before Iwo Jima.
Walter was KIA while leading his men to take out a Japanese Iwo Jima beach pillbox during the first day’s second landing wave on February 19, 1945.
For this action, Walter was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star.
A 47-page Hardcover "A Marines's Story" (see pages below) honoring his life and World War II experiences along with his digitized Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) are included. The book is based on information from documented sources.
